Digital River Server Blackout -A Preventable Mistake.

On Thursday Feb 23, 2012 Digital River (A Publicly traded company on the NASDAQ) suffered from a “extremely rare hardware malfunction” which crippled it’s service based businesses SWREG, Reg.net, RegNow.com, DigitalRiver.com and DirectTrack.com. Fortunately I happened to be in Minneapolis for business and only 6 miles away from the corporate headquarters of DR.  As I drove onto the massive campus in Eden Prairie, MN I entered what looked like a ghost town , something reminiscent of the film ’2012′.
